Description for exhibition

My subject of study is how to use visual design and editing techniques, so that the film has greater impact and engagement with the audience. Visual design and editing techniques are two aspects that can communicate mood and emotions. My final film is a documentary that has two parts. The first part was shot in the Ace Café, London. The second part was shot at the Mandrill Café, Beijing. I hope to explore the sub culture and language of the café racer in Britain and China. Riders say that the goal was to be able to reach 100 miles per hour (160 km/h), called simply "the ton" by the London racers, along such a route where the rider would leave from a café, race to a predetermined point and back to the café before a single song would finish on the jukebox. This is called “record-racing.” Every café racer has their own story, my documentary examines their stories and café racer culture in different countries.
